After worked two months, finally I left "Hawkes Bay".
I took newmans bus to Wellington, after the long long "sheeps", "cows"... those green mountain road, the bus drove into west costal, wind, wave, gloomy weather instead of the sunny day.It looks like the costal of high latitude country, looks very cold, but I like it.
Wellington
I stayed at Wellington 3 nights, below is where I lived, what I did at there:
Backpacker hostel - Rosemere
Rosemere, BBH rate 63%, the rate is below what I excepted to live, but it's cheapest one and I saw its equipment from internet, it looks not so bad, so I choosed it.Those equipments of Rosemere kitchen, showerooms, room look very morden and clean, but the kitchen always have too many people when the "eating time"; every shower room has sugestion that suggest backpackers take a shower in 5 minutes, and the hot water just can keep about 3 minutes then it changed, the hot and the cold water changed in turn, 3 days all the same; each backpacker can use free internet 30 minutes a day, but you need to sign your name on the paper quickly in the morning otherwise you get nothing... so that's some reasons it can't get good rate.
Mt Victoria lookout
"The best view of the city, harbour and surrounding region is from the lookout at the top of Mt Victoria (LP)". So I went to there to take some picture, it's easy to reach the top, I don't know why LP's author think you need to make the "taxing walk". The view is really good, center of Wellington, harbour, airport, south strait... you can get a 360 view. Someone told me that they went to there at night and they saw the beautiful night view at there, but remember that there always windy no matter at day or at night.
Museum of Te Papa
It locate at waterfront, a modern building , has many floors of exhibitions, the culture of Maori, story of immigrants, wild animals, contemporary art and culture..., although I think most of exhibitions like "Museum of Auckland" and what I interested just history and story of immigrants, but it worth you spend some time to visit it.
By the way, most of New Zealanders were from UK, Europe, but you can see many exhibitions, storys of people from Asia, and how about Taiwan, there are so many politician, they are ignorants, just care about their profit can't let "different group" in peace...
Cable Car & Botanic Gardens:I don't know why LP say Cable car is "must do" attraction in Wellington, thought it has history meaning but it just a short "railway", not so interesting.
But it's easy way for passenger visit "Botanic Gardens", I took cable car to "Botanic Gardens", first, I took many pictures on cable car with city view then visited its cable car museum, finally I walked around "Botanic Gardens".
"Museum of cable car" exhibit cable car's tale since it began in 1902(LP), you can know why they built it, many history pictures, old cable car, how the cable car work...
"Botanic Gardens" contain native bush and other gardens, including the Lady Norwood Rose Garden with over 100 rose species(LP) and there is a "Carter Observatory" there.I walked some path, I think it's a very good place to visit at weekend.
"Botanic Gardens" or some big parks inside the city of New Zealand, I really think they are not just a park, maybe name it as forest is more accurate, full of big and different trees, it's really good that the civilian can have a park like it so close.
Beehive:
I don't think its a special building, I passed by it and didn't take any picture on it until the next day when I waited at the deck of ferry, I was so boring then I shoot it.
Parliament
Next to "Beehive" is "Parliament house", I didn't go inside the "Parliament" because I went to there at wrong time, and two Taiwaness girls told me that the guide asked them where are they from then showed them a flag from Taiwan - there are many flags from diferent country - they saw a Taiwan religion flag of "Bei Gang Tsao Tian Gong" and they couldn't stop laughing when they saw it at there.
There are many history building at Wellington and they keep them well, I don't know why I am not interested on them, but Taiwan girls told me that the "Old St Paul's Cathedral" has striking interior and LP say it too, so I must visit it when I go back to North Island.
At 18th of Oct, I took "Bluebridge" ferry, left Wellington (North Island) throuhg "Cook Strait" sailed to South Island...
